There's a "Freemason conspiracy thriller" called Solomon's Key advertised on this site. I'm sure there are loads of others out there. Nature abhors a vacuum and authors have piled in and written books about the same sort of subject matter that DB's "The Solomon Key" supposedly covers. I'm reading a completely wild book called "The Armageddon Conspiracy" by mike hockney which is about an ancient Gnostic conspiracy to kill God! I thought DB's stuff was well-researched, but this is mind blowing. I wonder if DB can trump all of these other novels. He'll be hard pressed to beat a plot to assassinate God! Is his novel being delayed because he's reading these other books and seeing that all of his plot ideas are already being used?

Either Dan Brown wrapped up the new book some time ago and just tinkers with minor edits or he decided somewhere along the line to go through it again to put it on a higher plateau. In an interview, he said that the Masonic/US/Templar historical issues could easily hold interest as high as the Davinci Code and I believe that. To do so might demand more than the fast chase and clue relay style of the Davinci Code and I'm betting that the next Dan Brown book is on a much higher story-teller/literary accomplishment plateau than Davinci Code.

When was Dan Brown last seen or heard from? On TV or in Print or in the News? Maybe Dan was too cute with the clews
given away on the dust jacket to the DVC? Too clever by 1/2?

Sometimes I think there will never be another book by Dan Brown. I think he should have more contact with the people and inform us more of what is going on. Does it really take that long to write a good book. I wish Dan Brown had as many books as Jeffrey Archer. I love these two authors but Dan Brown has only 4 books published and is taking so long to publish the next one, if he will ever publish it.

You are right Pasila. He has missed to many good opportunities. While he may get a bump when S.K. is announced, whatever the plot involves now will be a let down due to length of time and all the good "copy-cats" that have been published and screened (for movies) since DVC. DB is not THAT good for it to maintain the block buster that DVC was...I fear he really has blown it. His mystique has dimmed, just has this message board has dimmed with folks like Julius Ceasar and some of the others that have tried to use it to sell their strange stuff. Sad, very sad.

Any new word on the book?
This fall would be the right time for the Christmas rush.
