A new book by Robert L.D. Cooper, called The Rosslyn Hoax, has just been publish. In in, he makes a very good argument that Rossly Chapel is nothing more than a 15th Century Roman Catholic Collegiate Church. He state there are NO Masonic symbols in in (I always knew that), and no templar symbols. It is supported by a web site: www.rosslynhoax.com

Thoughts?

(boy, this board sure has gone down hill!)

Yeah, when no new books seem to be forthcoming, people start to lose interest in good ol' Dan, which means less interest in posting. Sorry.

Robert is the Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, and his book is outstanding. It systematically lays out names, places, dates of what "evidence" appeared when, what's been fabricated and what Rosslyn was like before the Scottish Freemasons started inventing stories of the Templars to show up their English counterparts.

Yep, a little longer than your book WB Chris. (which reminds me, I gotta get a new copy, mine is one of the first, and has, I believe, a number of typos). Its every bit as good for its intended purpose, and I recommend it to everyone who has an interest in our ancient Craft.

Well, whatever the truth, it's a fabulous place to visit. Did Dan Brown actually go there, or just research it?
