Just read the book and I tell you its nothing but 510 pages of $hit. There are hundreds of flaws and loopholes. Most of the things are absurd and grossly exagerated. I feel like banging my head on the wall after wasting hours reading the book.

Some of the things just defies logic and commonsense.

1. Why the hell did Strathmore sent Holouat (or whatever his name was) on a killing spree? What did he get by killing such useless people like Rocio and the German and Megan, other than leaving a trail of bodies for investigators and forensic to follow? And he calls himself genius!!

2. Computers dont burst into flames on overhaeting no matter how much processors it held. Overheating just burns out ICs internally. There is nothing explosive inside a processor to destroy a building.

3. Tankado writes a destructive worm and he protects it with a single digit passkey?? Give me a break! Tankado must have been the foolish programmer ever. And Sophi could look into the code of the worm but could not find the simple command "if passkey==3" which will be at the beginning of the program.

This book is trash!

It is true that there are flaws in the book.
But only to those people who actually have a clue.
My father found it quite amusing.

If you want a true story you should not read a novel,
you will be a lot closer watching the Discovery Channel :-)

Anyhow, does anyone know about any site where people try out their ciphers and codes? I want some material to practise on and somewhere to test out my own cipher currently under construction.

All of this is very interesting, but, as it is revealed in the end, DF is not only not possible, but NOT REAL,it is only a worm. So the point is moot.

Well BlackPerl

Your No 2 Statement is interesting.

1. Computer DO explode into flames due to over heating. For example recently there has been a spate of laptops bursing into flames because their batteries overheated when charging.

Also TRANSLTR was not an ordinary computer. Its chips were built using Titanium-Strontium technology , which is mentioned that when overheated to the point of combustion produces Oxygen as a by-product. As Oxygen and fire creates tempuratures like what is in a blast-furnice.

Personally I enjoyed the book. It was realsistic enought to keep one on ones mental toes.. Without stretching the flight of fancy too far.

Just my humble opionion.

Da Wuff
