Probably just the ones who are 12-20. It seems to be a text messaging addiction issue.

It's a shame. Over here a couple of years ago a girl handed in her essay and it was completely written in text message lingo.

I think IM is to blame. Since I got it, my spelling and grammar have gone straight down the drain.

That's why on the big board that we run, full of teenagers, we put text messaging abbreviations in the bad word filter. It's shocking how many kids can no longer spell. We're doing our little part to combat the problem.

Have a look at this news report from the BBC - it also includes part of the girl's essay along with txt translations of famous quotes and books.

Hello all! New to the group, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I got 2 of DB's book as Christmas gifts, and was instantly hooked. Just finished Angels and Demons, and started on Digital Fortress. Leaving the DVC for last. (already picked it up at a bookstore yesterday) Was looking online for more info on all the 'facts' in Angels and Demons when I came across this site.
So, speaking of 'facts', any good links out there that aren't DB fan sites?
