William Brodrick's new novel, The 6th Lamentation, was reviewed in the Dallas Morning News over the weekend (and the review was reprinted in our local paper). The story sounds fascinating... I'm adding it to my book wishlist. I unfortunately can't link to or even reprint the review here as you need to pay to access the Dallas newspaper's archives, but there are reviews and excerpts at Amazon.

I just finished it last night and thoroughly enjoyed the story, but I wasn't thrilled with the final few chapters... It seems as though he used a formula to tie everything together at the end - and it just wasn't that satisfying.

I would have liked to have seen some different interactions between characters. That - and they seemed to take themselves waaaay too seriously on the one hand, carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders - yet never did anything about it in life. I suppose that's not uncommon, but ALL of them??? Especially because of the roles they played in their youth...

Anyway - a good read and I would definitely recommend it.
