How did Teabing know that Sauniere was the Grand Master of the Priory of Sion (or at least one of the top four people)? We know he know prior to the murder, etc., because he had been bugging his office and knew all about his family's car accident, etc.

She did... but he was bugging his office for a year before he met Sophie on the night of his murder. He had specific knowledge of the four head people in the PofS... how?

No clue, I think that he prolly just caught wind of something, and then bugged one of them and through that he found out the rest.

Things being resolved at the end of a story can be referred to as 'tying up the loose ends'. In The Da Vinci Code Dan Brown opens up with a loose start that remains untied in that we never know how Teabing knew about Sauniere et al. He should, of course, have explained this - especially if he was going to explain every other thing that popped into his head, and every little history - no matter how irrelevant.

Would that be Angels & Demons Mark III then. From what I've read The Da Vinci Code would appear to be almost a carbon copy of the former Langdon novel. A third would be terrible.

I assume that Leigh's connections with Opus Dei and his bugs told him. Remember, he admitted that Sauniere was on his list of possibles...his lifestyle is similar to that of some of the latest Grand Masters put forth in that list.
