if evolution occured, why did it stop occuring, that is my point. I don't know which theory is true, but its not like the choice is so vast. Minor theories are just that, minor and largely unknown by the general population. Evolution and divine creation both have holes in the system. Of course, evolution sounds nicer since all this research has been done, while no one bothered to try to prove or disprove the other theory. So, in short, basically, no one knows.

i dont think it has stopped occuring. the theory says that we have evolved over millions of years, so if we are still evolving, surely we wouldnt notice it? i also remember reading in biology once about how animals and plants adapt over time to the changing environment (with global warming etc) so this must be a form of evolution as well.

that is a good point. didnt we have to answer questions in the RE exam about evolution and the big bang theory?

Yes exactly! I agree with Sephia on why evolution has stopped occuring. Maybe we are not noticing it because it just takes millions of years.

Actually, you can see that successive generations of people are getting larger (not just fatter ) - I'm not sure that's evolving, but it is change. Also, who's to say we're not done evolving and this is the best we're going to get?

Good Point. Its said that the atomic bombs played a part in evolution - something to do with our bones...

Why learn about stuff we dont know about for sure? Come on, think. For example, we dont know everything about, computers and what they can do or will do in the future so your philosphy says that we shouldnt even attempt it. is that very sound reasoning? NO.

Quit being rude, NeverEnding. Your opinion isn't the be all and end all of the world. Don't tell us what we can or cannot discuss.

What I mean is that if humans evolved from apes, what about the missing link?

computers are man made...so people that design them are bound to know everything about them. and technology is certainly advancing, so surely it is a good idea to learn for the future as they are becoming a bigger part of our lives every year

danaholic said this earlier when we were discussing the topic,so i will let her have the credit for it. i just used it to back up my point about technology advancing. i thought i would just leave a quick note to let her know i did not intentionally steal her point and that i am very sorry if she is offended
