I've spent time in Westminister Abbey and it's a most amazing placed. I'd like to go back and spend more time there. Then the Louvre.

Westminster Abbey. I was in awe - and that's not easy for cynical old me. Standing there above Geoffrey Chaucer's grave was unbelievable. It really put time into perspective for me.

And to see the monuments and graves just shows so blatantly how money and power played such a part in The Church. And that almost a thousand years later, things haven't changed. It gives an explination for how The Church became so all-powerful, and standing within those walls, one understands the power stuggles that continue to this day. The Church flat-out ruled the western world. Everyone, from King to peasant was subject to the rule of Rome. And, as evidenced by the current pope, they haven't given up the desire to completely rule again.

Well, I have spent a day in the Louvre and didn't begin to see it all, not to mention that there is tons of stuff archived that comes on display for awhile and then moves back to make room for more. Westminster Abbey is splendid, but now people are herded through like cattle and spending a whole day there would be a logistic problem.

Not one of Dan Brown's sites, but I think the place I could spend a whole month in is Salisbury Cathedral. And in Old Sarum, the original site of the city, where William the Conqueror and his troops camped. Standing there on the ramparts, literally, and looking down, I could close my eyes and let my imagination run amok. The Diva will tel you about the route I took her on to get up there, another story for another day!

So when are we all going on this trip?
