If it's true that there's no Solomon Key until 2007, then that means 2007 is set to be a vintage year for books. Both the Solomon Key, and the final Harry Potter novel would be published in the same year.
Wow! It should be great!

I feel for Dazzle. In 2007 he will have to avoid looking at the best-sellers lists! Lol!
I'm glad Harry - The Final is not until 2007, though. I need to catch up before then! Will I make it??

I will try.
A few days ago somebody I was dining with, had the bright idea to tell me that after book 3 (the one I'm reading), there will be some importnt deaths! And also, that Ron and Hermione will get together! Nooooooooo! I didn't want to know all that! It was so inconsiderate of that person to reveal these twists!
I hope nobody will spoil The Solomon Key for me...

It will give you time to practice your yoga hard - to become a true expert. After that, you have the DVC and OOP movies to look forward to this year...

This is all very interesting but now to return to the topic, does no one have insider information on why the book is going to be delayed? I think someone out there must know...
Moderators?
Anyone?

Thanks for bring us back on topic. The book is delayed because Dan has been delayed in finishing it; perhaps because he is spending too much time reading and posting on this forum?

meh. I'll probably reread DVC the day before I go to see the movie... it shouldn't take me more than 3-4 hours.
For now, it's time to figure out what to read in the meantime.

Well Sephia, how about re-reading Harry Potter Books 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. They definitely re-pay multiple readings, in terms of spotting clues that answer some key questions.
Also, you could read HP series in parallel with Dazzle, and be on hand to encourage him, and help out if he doesn't understand something e.g. Dazzle: "I don't understand what a Dementor is. Can you help me understand it, Sephia?"

I don't tend to bother with bestsellers lists; usually because the books there tend to be poorly written things with little to say. They exist purely for thrills, which I don't find all that exciting.
I'm sure that in 2007 I'll be polishing off the paperbacks of those longlisted for the MAN Booker 2006, the Pulitzer, and working my way through the back catalogue of those I've been reading this year, in addition to going over the classics.

you can do it, Dazzle! I read HP 4 in one day and HP 5 in 2. Since there's more than a week to go, you'll have plenty of time.

I guess it's just longer than Dan had expected. The research work is long. And then the writing work as well. We have to be patient! :-)

Aparently there is some problem on issues relating to "encroachment" on other material related to the subject of the Son of the Widow. This person/character is supposed to be one of the hinge points of the new Dan Brown book that revolves around the Masonic brotherhoods and their purpose. The new book was supposed to be released in late 2006 but Dan Brown's lawyers came across some material on the central theme of the book "The Son of the Widow." It could cause him serious problems if he went ahead and published something even slightly similar that was copyrighted by someone else. It looks now as if he may have to re-write the book to avoid legal problems. Interesting, no?

Yeah, could you tell us where you heard that? If Dan has to re-write the whole book, we'll have to wait a very long time!!!

Hi KT and Mason,
I know of some people who seem to be following this closely and I mentioned the delay in the new book as it seemed quite odd that Dan Brown would lose the chance to capitalise in the high publicity the DVC had raised. They said that they would check their sources and one of them told me later that it had to so with the Son of the Widow subject. That the main theme in the new book was in connection with the big secret of the Freemasons, who swear to give refuge to an individual called the Son of the Widow. The big mystery has always been, "Who is the Son of the Widow?" Aparently Dan Brown didn't know the full implications of writing about this subject until he had written most of the new book as he had sourced his research material from what he thought was probably legends and misunderstood Masonic rituals. As you well know he is very good at re-working themes and ritualistic traditions. I was told to search the web carefully on the Son of the Widow theme and so I did. I found something of interest at a site named www.thesonofthewidow.org I recognised some of the text, but the end bit fairly took me by surprise. The site linked me to another site and I found some ebook titles that seem to be connected to a similar theme. Take a look for yourself as I only found this stuff a few days ago and that's why I decided to do some more research on the subject of the late publication of the new Dan Brown book. That's how I got here today. Interesting stuff but I have to admit I'm a bit out of my depth here and need to find out some more.

Hi Rosey,
Were you referring to the son of the widow site? How did you find it bigoted? I found it to be quite interesting. Had you heard of the prophecy of Dan before? I have to admit not ever hearing of it. Interested in your reply or anyone's information on this.

Hi Monakos,
Yes, I was referring to this site which features articles on women and their rightful role in this world; also, the one on homosexuals...and regarding the article of 'faith' of this "secret bloodline of caulbearers", namely,'Son of the widow' aka, "Joshua Ben Miriam", it reads awfully gobbledegook. The only prophecy I have read about that comes close to the name "Dan" is that of "Daniel", re, the Babylonian exile. I was merely being light-hearted by suggesting Dan Brown's final book: The Prophecy of Dan. Verstehen sie? Rosey

Hi Monakos,
Quite a unique name you have there...you wouldn't happen to be the same Monakos who posted to Beliefnet in 2003 about 'caul-bearers' would you?
Because that would be strange, considering the Son of the Widow website you have only just discovered is intrinsically linked to Caulbearer.org...

Hi Greg,
Odd that you might think that, but I had come across this name/title while researching these topics over the past few weeks. I had come across some postings on the net with this name, but hadn't seen that particular one you refer to Greg. Thanks for that. I looked up the meaning of the name as I'd remembered seeing it in some text before and found it meant "Solitary" or "The Solitary" and liked it, so I used it to post here. I suppose I could have have used a variant, but it's a free world and I didn't presume it to be copyrighted. Anyway, I'm not too sure about those sites now that I've looked more closely at them and read the stuff there. At the same time though I did find the references to the son of the widow I was told about, which seems to be a stong possibility for the Dan Brown book problem. Who knows? It could be all a load of nonsense I suppose. The web is full of misleading stuff, as you will no doubt have found out for yourself.
Cheers Monakos

i know. And that's the problem. The more excited you are, the higher your expectations go. Going into a book with high expectations is a sure road to dissappointment.

I overheard a girl talking to a customer in a bookshop the other day. The girl, who worked there, said the book will be out in May; it's release date has been moved back because of the court case.
