LOL!! I litterally ADORE that movie: it has me in stitches every single time, doesn't matter that I know it all by heart. Such a classic! Airplane rocks!
On a more serious note, I'd say The Prince Of Tides is probably one of my top 3.

Cool...I think it's coming out on DVD soon, so I'll probably get it. Oh, and no offense, but it's not often you see a girl who likes scary movies...that's really cool.

My all-time horror fave??? Wow that’s a hard question, man I lov’em all, but I think that it could narrow it down to either Poltergeist, or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. What’s yours?

As for Isa, I'd have to narrow it down to Nightmare on Elm Street, Poltergeist, Friday the 13th, Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Saw. I can't pick one...it's WAY too hard, I love so many of em!

personally, I don't watch horror. They freak me out too much.
Donnie Darko was AMAZING. such a good film. And I love the Matrix. no. 2, I thought, was ok, but the first was amazing, even if a bit too heavy on the Christian iconography.
I'm more of a comedy person. I loved The Producers (the new version, and the Broadway show!), Down Periscope(absolutely LOVE that), The Princess Bride, Monty Python, Men in Tights, etc.

lmao, you're too funny! Anyway, that's exactly how I felt after seeing that movie (about getting possessed, not already being possessed...lol). It's just the fact that's it's so real and since it's based on a true story, that leaves the door open for many possibilities...

Not really (When A Stranger Calls), but on March 3rd, Pulse comes out and that movie looks so good!!! The Hills Have Eyes and Night Watch come out next month as well. And as for a "scary" movie, Scary Movie 4 comes out April 14.

"when a stranger calls" was so boring, that it turned into a comedy. I am though looking forward to Pulse it looks great, a little to scary I may say. Well I guess i'll just have to digg my nails into the person sitting next to me.

rheyn, you missed out one of the best Japanese horror movies in recent years, Audition. Best, of course, because the first hour and a half was a romantic melodrama.

Well, I think my favorite movie ever is 'Cruel Intentions'. I love the dialoges and everything. But I also like the Matrix movies, each and every single one, although I think this great storyline deserved a better end. A friend of mine and I watched Kill Bill a short while ago. Wow, I was stunned. I don't really like movies with voilence in them, but this one was different. I also watched Butterfly Effect, but I think I'm too... well, for lack of better word, stupid to understand the movie. Said friend did manage to get me to watch X-Men and X-Men 2. Although we laughed through all of the second movie, it was nice to watch it. The other people in the cinema will probably disagree *g* Oh, and I forgot Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve. They are pretty funny.

Have you seen Dangerous Liaisons? Or, going back a bit, Les Liaisons Dangereuses?

I'm sorry, but there's nothing "different" about Kill Bill. It's a cheap rehash of countless Japanese films.

Okay, when you go back in time and change something, it affects the future. That is all.

Yeah, but still... he went back to find out what he missed when he had this blackouts. But didn't his going back in the time cause his blackouts? And at the end when he sees her why doesn't he say something? I mean, they were children when he told her he didn't want contact with her (did he really say that he would kill her or do I mix something up again? Too many movies I think...), but as an adult they could have started all over again... I don't get it.
As to Kill Bill, many movies do just have the fights in them without a plot. This one has a plot, and it made me laugh at some points.
I had a nice look at my DVD collection, and I found Chicago and Entrapment. I'm quite a fan of Catherine Zeta-Jones, although I didn't get so see Zorro 2. Stupid cinema changed its program.
Oh, did I mention that I'm a bit of a Trekker? I think it's sad that Nemesis was the last movie, I would have loved to see Riker and Troy's honeymoon.
Quick question: Does anyone know the movies 'The Thrill Seekers' and 'Blach Thunder' or 'Crash Dive'? I wonder if they did run in the US and the UK too. They are pretty old, I think the last two are from the 90's. 'Thrill Seekers' is from 2000 or 2001 I think. If you don't know them you haven't missed something...

To be honest, I can't really remember The Butterfly Effect. I do recall, however, that there was a different ending on DVD to the cinema ending.

@dazzle: I only watched the movie on DVD, and they both met on a street and walked past each other. He recognized her but didn't say something, and she turned around after a while and he was already gone.
@Isabelle: In Germany the movie has just started, and the newspapers said that it would be pretty good but nothing for a newby of horror films. I don't think I'm going to watch it, it seems really scary...

I really don’t like horrors. My themes are comedies and adventures, history or fantasy. Unfortunately, there is no a cinema in my town. And I am too lazy to spend two or three hours with the DVD without a break. So, I usually see the new movies behindhand.
I like some old movies. Often they are kinder. And there is less fight in them. Of course, not every old movie is fit for a modern spectator. Some of them are too slowly. For example, I almost fell asleep when I was watching “The Fall of The Roman Empire” (1964). (By the way, see the film if you like “Gladiator”. It is interesting to compare them). Now I would ask you about two American movies which were liked in the USSR. Cultural exchange between Soviet and non-Soviet countries was limited for many years. So, there were a few movies Soviet people could see. And some of them became almost legends. Many people like “The Magnificent seven” (1960). And it is not only me who like “Roman holiday” (1953). My generation still knows those movies. My parents paid my attention to them. But I am not sure the children born after 1990 will like them. There are too many cartoon films, toys and other entertainments now. I wonder if my favorite old American movies are still liked in the USA. Do you know “The Magnificent seven” or “Roman holiday”? Do you like them? Are the movies known in the other countries except the USA?
And does anybody know if Theodore Dreiser’s “The Financier” was ever made into a film version? I was in delight after reading the novel last summer.

Too many horror films in that lot. I get scared easily.
My fave movie is hands-down "Walk the Line". I love EVERYTHING about this movie.
Other than that I would have to go with Finding Neverland Ocean's 11 Michael Collins and Elizabeth Town (thats such a great movie too!)
