If they were to make this a movie, who do you think should play whom? I think it should as follows:
Becker: Dr. Jackson from Stargate SG-1
Susan: Jean grey from the X-Men movies
Strathmore: Farmer from Babe
Hale: Henry Rollins (for comedy's sake)
Jabba: John Goodman
Fontaine: CANDYMAN
Hulohot: Johnny Depp

I was going to start reading the book when I read your post Demon Wolf. Usually when I read books, I try to imagine what the characters look like as I read more. It was fun to read because I was able to picture everyone right from the beginning. Good picks! Thanks a lot! =)

I particularly like the John Goodman and Johnny Depp choices. Johnny makes such a great wacko. Anyone seen One Upon A Time In Mexico?? His Agent Sands is what -makes- the movie! I see Hulohut sorta like a silent Sands.
As to Famke Jansen (aka Jean Grey) for Susan.. I'm not sure... her having been a Bond Girl sorta works against her in my book. At least for ubersmart characters. How about Saffron Burrows? (see Troy - Andromache; Circle of Friends - Nan)

I love johnny depp, but I actually pictured Hulohot being played by the same man who played the villain as Red Dragon, the prequel to Silance of the lambs.
I still like the actress from Dogma, MIB, and Liberty stands still for susan.
Strathmore, um I imagined a bigger man than the farmer from babe. No one inparticular.
Rip Torn is too funny, but about that body type.

Susan: Teri Polo (Meet the Parents) or Elisabeth Shue
Strathmore: John Voight
Fontaine: Dennis Haysbert (President Palmer on 24)
Hulohot: Guy Pearce (The Time Machine, Memento)
I'll have to give more thought to Hale and Jabba. I was picturing "Comic Book Guy" from the Simpsons as Jabba...too bad he's a cartoon!

Here are my choices for DF:
David Becker: Rob Lowe (I think he would make a great Langdon too)
Susan Fletcher: Reese Witherspoon (as brunette to tear away from the Legally Blonde image.)
Strathmore: Harrison Ford (He is what I pictured as I read the book.) Although, Voight is a good choice too.

She was good in kill bill, but digital fortress....i dont know......i dont think shes the right type of actor for that, from what ive seen.

John Malkovich (not sure if that how you spell it) as Hulohot???? He has a real aptitude for portraying psychos. I think he would be great.

I had a hard time reading Digital Fortress at first because the name David Becker just happened to be the name of an old history teacher I had. I kept picturing him as the character, it was just too weird.

OOH!!! I LOVE this game!!! If anyone happens to stumble upon this thread before reading DF, these aren't bad choices for the characters. Although, neither are the ones listed before this...
Susan- Catherine Zeta-Jones (GOOD GOD her LEGS man!!)
Hale-Matthew McConaughay(Obviously spelled his last name wrong)
Jabba-Wayne Knight (umm...I think FAT says it all)
Strathmore-Gene Hackman (Stong character=strong actor)
Becker-Mark Ruffalo (definitely mustache FREE)
Fontaine-Michael Clarke Duncan (intimidates the heck out of me...*shrug*)
Hulohot-Benicio Del Toro(If anyones face says CRAZY SPANIARD, it's his.)
Let me know what you think guys and gals. (Anyone else think Tom Hanks looks nothing like the Langdon from DV Code?)

Susan - RACHEL WEISZ (from the mummy)
Becker - Dennis Quaid?
Bit of a stellar cast, also Al Pacino/DeNire could easily do Strathemore.

Musashi has the best list of them all so far. This is my list, as I pictured each character from the book when I read it...
Susan Fletcher: I agree with Catherine Zeta-Jones, but she lacks the intelligence part. So I went with Kate Beckinsale. Totally hot, and she can play the part. Other choices are Evangeline Lilly of "Lost" and Diane Farr of "Numb3rs"
David Becker: Matthew McConaughey or Anthony Michael Hall. Tom Cruise is a somewhat valid choice I suppose. Matt Damon, maybe.
Trevor Strathmore: Either Kevin Cooney or David Keith. A big-time actor idea would be Terry O'Quinn, Locke from "Lost".
Fontaine: Sidney Poitier, DEFINITELY!
Midge Milken: Jaclyn Smith. Yes, she's 60. Or Loni Anderson. Kathy Bates, good choice, because in the book it quotes, "...She was sixty, slightly heavy,.." She fits quite well.
Chad Brinkerhoff: Conan O'Brien. Seriously, he'd be good.
Phil Chartrukian: Eric Szmanda. Perfect.
Greg Hale: Tough one. Josh Holloway, not a bad idea. Kevin Bacon, he would need to be more buff. Matt Damon, again, maybe.
Jabba: Wayne Knight, DEFINITELY!
Tankado: Ken Watanabe. What a badass.
Numataka: Togo Igawa
Soshi: Ziyi Zhang
Hulohot: I imagined him being Asian for some reason, so I picked Daniel Dae Kim. He's perfect. The last name "Hulohot" fits with his face I guess. Matt Damon from his Bourne Identity movies wouldn't be a bad idea. Probably wouldn't happen though. Keifer Sutherland, just because he's such a badass that it would be unbelievably cool.
