Hey!
I' ve seen the movie, too. There's one thing I don't understand and maybe someone who read the book can help me. So: the whole story runs from a gadget within whom lies the papirus blablabla. It has a code that needs to be found out otherwise the papirus inside will be lost forever. They made it following step by step the DaVinci riddles. So Leonardo, who lived in the 15th century sent them to the grave of sir Isaac Newton who lived in the 17th century to find out that the key was the "apple" that made him famous. How is this possible?

I say you should watch the movie again... Maybe Sophie's grandfather had something to do with it...

I was confused too at first after seeing the movie the first time. I thought they had said da Vinci had made the cryptex. But it was Jaques Sauniere (sp?) who had made the cryptex from Leonardo's design.

I wasn't all that impressed with the movie. I didn't like the way they changed stuff from the book and I'm not sure it would have been all that interesting for someone who had never read DVC.

I am looking forward to the next moview though.

The big question to me is that even if the author choose sensetive issues like "jesus's sexuality, the constantine's political needs, and intentions of the church to keep women out of power" to thrill the reader and to make his book a most exciting chase story with an Ingenious motive, 'holy grail', are their any other hidden intentions that the author has? besides writing a great fiction - as the author claims. There are references which are authentic and make you forget the story and the book and think on a larger scale about very very serious people like jesus christ, magdelene and the church itself. Secondly the sexual behaviour of monks faces a serious critisism on the basis of this theory. If I were a monk I would run to my spiritual teacher and ask him to please give an explaination. i can still write more but for now enough of typing. Please comment on DAn Browns hidden motives if any.Serious fiction readers can stay out of this and sail on with the detective story.. That was sort of interesting as well..Da Vinci's paintings should not be taken more seriously than dan brown's writings.

The Priory is in charge of securing and protecting the lineage and artifacts. They create and operate the clues and such things as the cryptex. DaVinci didn't have to make those things as part of the book. Davinci did good to show the concrete wedge coming down between MM and JC in The Last Supper. Slam! It's over! They are NOT a couple any longer!

Hello All:

I looked foward to seeing the movie "The DaVinci Code", because of my awarenes of some of the truth and fantasy about it.

In early 1982, I read the book "Holy Blood-Holy Grail" and later wrote to Author, Michaek Baigent. What I had to share with brought forth a letter response, whereby I then return an additional answer.
Shorty after... Baigent, Lincoln, and Leigh wrote a sequel named "The Messianic Legacy". In this book, additional facts were presented... including those areas that tied some loose ends from the previous book.

I was satisfied with what I had additionally sent him. When the books of Dan Brown came out, something clicked me behind the head. How much did Dan Brown know... or researched???

During this time I was already in Los Angeles, and slowly getting my feet additionally wet in the Land Of Hollywood... met many people in the business.

In one of the later acting groups I met and became involved with. In the 1990's, I was introduced by one of my co-performers to Actor, Clint Howard... Yes, the brother of none other than Ron Howard. Though we were lightly aquainted... Clint and I would recognize one another from time to time.

How Dan Brown got connected with Ron Howard... I don't know, but the stories that were being generated by Dan Brown and passed on to Ron Howard seemed serendipity, but Hollywood is Hollywood, and people come and go.

The forth coming movie "Angels and Demons" seems to bring things additionally together. Again Ron is at the forefront as director. The confession of Dan Brown's acknowledgement of character "Vittoria Vetra" based on real life person "Victoria Vetri" opens up an additional can of worms. Thus linking me to that story as well... years before meeting an alledged model-actress who may have been the real Victoria Vetri back in the 1970's (see A&D Discussions).

At this time... I do not recall ever meeting Dan Brown personally, but the tie-in's seem in my opinion way beyond the scope of chance?

Al
