I am very upset about the game i may be 25 chapeters from teh end of the book but that game contains a lot of fighting! Have i missed a lot of fighting scenes! In the book i seem to be given the impression that Robert trys to avoid fighting were he can!

the game itself involves plots not in the book, or the movie. I think they threw some things in to give fans of the movie/book a little thing to throw them off track.
as for the fighting, they likely added that to make the game more appealing to the average gamer.

Here's Doug Elfman's (game critic/tv critic/entertainment reporter for the Chicago Sun Times) review of the game. The first paragraph really sums it up nicely.
The Da Vinci Code" video game is partly about extremists killing over religion. That sounds like the gist of both world history and certain modern warfare. But as you'd imagine, "The Da Vinci Code" is mostly a religious mystery based on the novel and the movie. It is also quite awful.

The Da Vinci Code game is decent fun for a big fan of the book like myself, but can become increasingly frustrating at times. I could see how most gamers wouldn't like it.

I'd wait until it gets down to about $9 at Wal Mart, I'm guessing around X-Mas or soon thereafter.

Trust me, rent then decide. It's an okay game, but I'm a big fan of puzzles so I finished it. And on that note the last "puzzle" is the biggest pain possible.
