The Mickey Mouse watch that I remember was a mechanical watch. You wound it up. It ran by a spring. How is it possible that Robert Langdon was saved by the beeping of the alarm of his Mickey Mouse watch? The watch would have no battery, no electronics, and wouldn’t beep.

It could be a mistake on his part or not… First Mickey Mouse watch was introduced in 1933, in 1957 Hamilton introduces world’s first battery driven watch and in 1970 Pulsar is the first electronic digital watch. If one thinks that Langdon was 41 in 2003, then he turned 10 in 1972, when he could’ve gotten an electronic Mickey Mouse watch as a present. Then again, he never says the watch is mechanical or not… it’s waterproof and glow-in-the-dark… I’ll take a leap of faith and say the watch has an alarm… or else… how would he be saved later on in the book?

I think the watch was mechanical. Was it an official Mickey Mouse watch, or just a watc with Mickey on it, though?

They did (and still do) have A Mickey Mouse watch that has an alarm and is glow in the dark ... it is also (to my knowledge) not licensed by Disney. It is made by Seiko, and here is it's info:
SEIKO Men's Mickey Mouse ALARM GLOW IN THE DARK CHRONO-INSTANT DATE Hardlex Crystal Thin Dress 1 1/2" dial Black lizard skin band

But wasn't Langdon's the one with Mickey's arms as the hands?

Langdon's watch did have Mickey Mouse with arms as the hands. It was glow in the dark and waterproof. Check out chapter 96. Halfway through he sets his alarm to make "his final play".

I was wondering how in the heat and sound of that fire fighting in that church, that the fire chief could hear the beeping of the alarm from under the sacrophagus.
Also Vittoria seems to have rather sharp hearing, to hear Olivetti's mobile in vibrater mode.
But I loved the book, just finished it yesterday.

That's right. I think this is why 'Angels and Demons' is called a *FICTION* book.
