Vittoria and Langdon
      #709 - 03/04/04 05:33 AM

Someone help me out here, I read Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, gave DVC back to my mom and loaned Angels and Demons to my fiance so I can't answer my own question.

Here it is: What happened to Vittoria and Langdon? I seem to remember Vittoria saying something to the effect of "I should have married a younger man" towards the end of A&D. Did they get married? What the heck happened to her by the time of DVC?

I'm sure there were references to her in DVC, but now I can't check because I'm too cheap to buy my own copy of it until it comes out on paperback. Thanks a lot for the help.

In “Angels & Demons”, Langdon has this dream (“I should have married a younger man”) twice. At the beginning of the book, a young woman calling his name, and at the end, this time,Vittoria calling him.
Langdon and Vittoria spend some time together in Rome and promised each other to meet again every 6 months but don’t get around to actually keep the promise… They only had Rome.

Right.. he thought about her in DVC when he went to Paris, but then dropped that thought, so, I guess nothing ever came of it.

Thanks for enlightening me. I think the reason I missed that it was a dream the first time I read it was that I was going pretty fast at that point, trying to get to the end.

I wonder if after the movie DVC, if Dbrown will write more and continue the last scion. (If indeed sophia is the last, cuz ther's many branches of those two family names, right ?)

I'm not sure about that... Sophia found her grandmother and her brother... DB will perhaps write about another "Langdon" girl and thank you for the compliment!

Lnagdon girl? lol. It is James Bond-like. "Langdon, Robert Langdon". At least the Langdon girls wave brains.... I doubt Brown will go back to Sophie. He sorta abandoned Vittoria after one brief note in DVC, and He'll probably do the same with Sophie. I wonder what the next girl's name will be... It'll be in the US...hmm.... Catherine? Amanda? Nicole?

At the end of A and D, they did it. plain and simple. Then they decided to meet at a romantic location every so often, and it didnt work, and then good old Robert 'Bond' Langdon met Sophie. Dont feel bad for Vittoria. SHe's probably knee deep in geek ass (I remember reading the jokes that the people made at CERN, and shaking my head. Scientific humor just isnt all that funny. THe only thing that made me chuckle was Langdon's response to it)
I didnt particularly like Vittoria (or Sophie for that matter). Im waiting for the next book to see if Brown brings in a female character that im actually attached to. I cant particularly relate to (or understand) Sophie or Vittoria, so its sort of difficult to give a damn about either of them.

I think I prefer Vittoria as well, though Sophie was ok. In truth though, at times, I felt Sophie was just there to give Langdon someone to lecture/explain to.
